About Artisan Boatworks

Artisan Boatworks is a personable, state of the art boatbuilding facility, located one mile inland from Rockport Harbor. We have many years experience in the construction and restoration of both traditional and composite wooden boats, and adhere to the highest standards of workmanship and efficiency. Our specialty is the reproduction of classic daysailers by Herreshoff and William Fife.

Recently, we have built heirloom quality wooden reproductions of the original Herreshoff 12 ½, a Herreshoff Fish Class, and have completed the design for a 24' LOD William Fife inspired, cold moulded daysailor with a very modern underbody. Our current project is a 26' Crowininshield designed Dark Harbor 17.

We welcome visitors to tour the shop, meet the crew, and survey several of our recent projects. Our rates are reasonable, but building slots are limited. Please direct inquires to Alec Brainerd at 207.236.4231, or info@artisanboatworks.com.
